"the songs tenderly blew dust from places in my heart I didn't realize needed it so badly..."

Two more house concerts coming up - April 23 and 24th!

Carmen is recording her full studio album this year! It will be a combination of original chamber music and folk songs written over the last decade.

These are intimate solo concerts featuring original folk songs, sung along with a 100-year-old piano, on creaky wooden floors, in a cosy mid-town Yellowknife shack. Love, heartbreak, hormones, home, north, ice, death, God, friendship, history, pyrite, family, caribou - this concert has it all. There might even be a cover of another amazing Northern artist…

"warm, close, intimate, eclectic, quirky, resonate and gentle"

"One moment I'm smiling, next I'm tearing up, and then I was laughing"

And a series of house concerts to kick the project off! The first one on April 3 was a great success. And two more coming up - Saturday April 23 and Sunday April 24 in Yellowknife. Limit of 20 tickets available each night. To purchase tickets, email carmen@blackicesound.com with the desired number of tickets, and more details will be provided to confirm your tickets.

The concert is to raise funds for the album and, most importantly, to let the folk songs stretch their legs.  Allergy alert! Dog hair will likely be present in the house. Dog will not. If you’re interested in supporting the album in other ways, watch out for an online crowdfunding campaign.
