The Association of Canadian Women Composers is putting on a fantastic concert of music by composers who are Canadian and who are women! It will be held Friday Sept. 18th at the Grebel Chapel at the University of Waterloo. My piano trio The Bedrock Cycleswill be part of the performance:
"Bedrock is the common term for rock that underlies the surface of the planet. The bedrock that Yellowknife NWT sits on is largely exposed to the air, and dominates the landscape. It is also some of the oldest rock on the planet.
The Bedrock Cycles explore the cycles of time that are connected to this particular part of the Earth: the bedrock itself - four billion years since it was formed, the black lichen that takes one hundred years to grow, human lives spanning decades, and the mosquito which comes to the end of its life cycle in mere days."
Thanks to the ACWC for supporting these amazing composers!
