The fantastic violin + piano duo of James Ehnes and Andrew Amstrong will perform my newest work Magnetic North in Toronto on Sunday May 29 as part of the RCM 21C Festival . Info and tickets here.

James and Andrew premiered my piece in Yellowknife and then played it again in Iqaluit, and I’m thrilled to attend this third performance on the beautiful Koerner Hall in downtown Toronto - its a magnificent 1,300 seat acoustically drool-able venue.

About the piece: The power to attract… this is the quality of something magnetic. Magnetic North merges scientific information about magnets and the magnetic north pole with a personal reflection on my family’s journey to the north many years ago.

These two guys are the coolest! I want to thank them so much for supporting music from the north, for doing their amazing tour, for bringing my music to this festival, and for being such generous and deep-hearted human beings.
